On 24th May, 2019, the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw enacted the Copyright Law. This is the final one of IP Laws and the previous IP Laws [Industrial Design (30 January 2019), Trade Marks (30 January 2019) and Patents (11 March 2019) have been enacted respectively although they do not come into force yet.
Copyright is the exclusive right obtained by original author under the Copyright Law.
In exclusive right, there are two types – #commercial & #moral
#Literary and #artistic works are protected under the Copyright Law although they are not registered.
Any original #author or #owner of copyright may register literary or artistic work for sufficient #evidence of obtaining copyright.
#Term of Copyright:
For Commercial – #20 to #50 years
For Moral – #unlimited
#Economic (commercial) right may, like other Intellectual Properties, be #transferred, #assigned and #licenced.
